Dear Joe,
I really… REALLY want to start my own company one day. I’m 16 and I want to do something along the lines of the editing and filming that you guys do at JK films… BUT I have no clue where to start or what to study to get into this. How can I make money off of this stuff? I currently make vine edits… but if you could tell me how you started and give me some tips or point me in the right direction because I’m really stuck in life not knowing what to do after school. Thank you very much for reading this.

Im really happy that you want to start your own company and have these aspirations. This is awesome to have these goals!
Ok so this took me over 7 years of researching and learning….. and I still am learning!!
Honestly, I just searched everything and anything I could on Google, the hardest thing wasn’t finding information and the step by step of how to do these things.
You can literally go to the library and find tons of books on this stuff. The thing you HAVE TO absolutely HAVE TO do is read and meet people who are doing what you want to do and work with others who want to do the same thing.
Advice can be forgotten but experience won’t. I suggest you start immediately and look for how to start making films with your friends. Learn as you go! That’s really good you already started with the vine videos, keep going and maybe get a camera, edit it (you can look at tutorials on youtube). Theres so much information out there.
I’ll tell you the most valuable thing that I learned, it isn’t the step by step and the how to’s that were hard. It was controlling my emotions, having courage and being able to stay focused.
Remember to have those things in line and you can achieve anything!
