Happy new years from Tokyo šŸŽ‰

Right now, I’m at this 24/7 coffee shop reflecting on my year.

Not gonna lie—it’s a bit more chill than my 20s, when I’d probably be out rizzing up ABGs instead of journaling my reflections šŸ˜‚

Anyways, I wanted to drop my thoughts on what I want to do with business and life going into 2025.

Because honestly, it’s wild how much my life has changed in just 12 months.

What happened in 2024

1. I scaled my high-ticket sales advisory to $20K+ per month šŸ¤‘

One year ago, Ali Abdaal’s team brought me on as a ā€œhigh-ticket closerā€ for his Part-Time YouTuber Accelerator.

Helping scale Ali’s high ticket offer was definitely interesting.

At first, I focused on taking as many sales calls as possible.

But by July, I started noticing inefficiencies in the sales process. That’s when I decided to launch a new ā€œfractional Head of Salesā€ subscription offer with Ali.

This role meant:

  • Taking the lead on optimizing the sales process and offer
  • Providing feedback to the product and marketing teams
  • Advising Ali’s core team

We still have a long way to go, but revenue went up after focusing on:

  1. Communicating capacity clearly in our marketing and sales process
  2. Being more selective for our qualification process
  3. Introducing urgency and scarcity, especially through things like waitlists
  4. Using insights from sales calls to improve the sales page and offer

The results?

This month alone we sold $137K with me as the sole ā€œcloserā€ – I hate that word btw.

As a result, I’m earning $1K-$3K per day while working just 1-4 hours.

This doesn’t even include the subscription I charge Ali.

2. I got my purple belt in BJJ 🟣

A year ago, I felt stuck in my jiu-jitsu progress.

Today, I’m a purple belt, tapping out brown belts at other gyms.

Here’s what changed:

  1. I started prioritizing tutorials from Firas Zahabi
  2. I focused on having fun, flowing, playing, and rolling with less intensity
  3. I improved my strength, mobility, cardio, and diet off the mats

With these changes, I started submitting guys 50 lbs heavier and even giving black and brown belts a hard time from my defensely.

For the first time, I heard compliments like, ā€œYou’re such a technical rollā€ 🄲

There’s still a lot to do to become the world’s most dangerous 30+ BJJ power bottom athlete, but more on that later šŸ˜›

3. I moved to Asia āœˆļø

Okay, not entirely—I plan to spend 80–90% of my time here—but this was a huge step for me.

Not to be dramatic, but this move represents over a decade of work and personal growth.

Since pharmacy school at 25, I’ve dreamed of moving to Asia. But I kept putting it off to do the ā€œresponsibleā€ things.

I got a six figure pharmacist job. Then I started a business. And worked to make more money running that business.

Eventually, I ran out of excuses and asked myself… ā€œso what’s really stopping you from traveling to Asia?ā€

The truth is was that it was an identity issue.

I didn’t feel I deserved a life of enjoyment and nice things.

And in some weird sadistic BDSM way, I was more comfortable suffering than actually doing what I wanted.

So, I called up a friend, booked a one-way ticket to Japan, and made plans to explore Asia šŸ™‚

4. My YouTube barely grew this year 🄲

A year ago, I started at 18,167 subscribers.

Now, we’re at 19,699 person audience.

8,000+ on this newsletter.

and 3,485 on Instagram

…all following my business, wannabe ABB, degen posts šŸ˜‚

While I appreciate the growth, I’m not happy with it.

Despite my knowledge of YouTube, I’ve underperformed and this year was the slowest growth for us.

Even though we’ve improved Click-Through Rates (CTR) to 6-9%, but our average percentage is still under 20% on every video.

TLDR; our retention blows and no one is watching our videos.

To fix this, I ā€œfired myselfā€ and made some key changes:

  1. Hired a YouTube scriptwriter, content strategist, and two editors
  2. Focused on unique insights and storytelling to differentiate myself
  3. Invested in power hours with storytelling specialists like Matthew Dicks
  4. Worked on creating formats for a unique viewer experience

These efforts started paying off, and by the end of the year, we had a mini-breakout video – I’m 36, still single, and falling behind… kinda šŸ™‚

Some stats:

  1. Published 32 videos (most in November and December)
  2. Reached 120K views with 1.5M impressions
  3. Began generating $1K–$3K per month in passive income

More plans for the YouTube channel in a bit šŸ™‚

My 2025 plans

As I sit here at this late-night coffee shop, reflecting on the year, I’ve been thinking deeply about why I run my business, my YouTube channel, and the overall direction of my life.

And no—my purpose isn’t to rizz up ABGs internationally like Jason the Ween. šŸ˜‚

Here are a few realizations:

1. The vision of the YouTube is to help as many creators build successful businesses while improving their personal development.

One of the questions that makes me clench my butthole is ā€œso what is your YouTube about?ā€

To be honest, I’ve struggled to articulate it—until good old ChatGPT helped me clarify.

I don’t want my channel to be just another ā€œmake moneyā€ channel or a corny self-improvement motivational porn.

And even if I did, I would fucking ā€œloseā€ so hard to people like Dan Koe, Hormozi, or Vanessa Lau.

So, I asked myself: ā€œWhat would I create even if the performance didn’t matter, but it felt meaningful?ā€

I realized that the two things I love most are business and personal development—they’re deeply connected.

  • Doing business forces you to grow, become self-aware, and understand your boundaries and capacity.
  • Personal development, in turn, helps you build systems that make life and business easier over time.

The truth is, you can’t be a top-tier entrepreneur if you’re not reflective or taking care of your body. A distracted mind will hold you back.

I’ve seen too many business owners burn out, lash out at their teams, or lack the self-awareness to serve their customers effectively.

I want to help creators navigate these challenges so they can succeed in both business and life.

2. My long term vision is to be a super-connector for my audience and community.

I asked ChatGPT, ā€œHow would Kevin Yee’s best friend describe him in one sentence?ā€

Here’s the answer:

“Kevin is the kind of friend who challenges you to think bigger, supports you when you’re at your lowest, and somehow always manages to bring out the best in everyone around him.”

People are lonely AF these days, and I want to change that.

One of the most rewarding things I do is connect friends to other cool people or products I love. But I want to take this further.

In 2025, I plan to host more in-person and virtual events.

If I can scale this—bringing people together while sharing value—that’s a life worth living.

3. My personal goal is to retire by this year while increasing my quality of life.

So I looked at my numbers and if I dump $100K by the end of the year, I can retire and not worry about that part of my life.

This doesn’t even include my crypto or individual stocks LOL.

Of course, I’ll have to be mindful about cashflow, but I can basically fuck off and be good.

There’s a lot of power in that because once that’s taken care of, I can stop worrying about survival and focus on playing the long game.

But here’s the other kicker—I’ve always hustled to achieve my goals.

In my 20s, that grind was exciting. But in my 30s, I’ve realized it’s not sustainable.

It’s not that I can’t hustle. It’s that the energy ROI isn’t worth the toll on my body and mind. Unless I want to keep running like a professional dumbass, it’s time to shift.

That’s why I moved to Asia.

Here’s my plan to scale my business to $100K/month while living the good life:

  1. Invest more money in the stock market.
  2. Upgrade my lifestyle: luxury apartment, daily massages, multiple gym memberships, catered meals, and cleaning services.
  3. Host private events for friends: think macro-friendly private chef dinners, photoshoots, and themed nights.

All of this, while living in a luxury apartment at a fraction of the cost.

My spending ratio goes down, my quality of life goes up, and I’m actually enjoying life šŸ˜‚

How I’m going about my 2025 plans:

Here’s my my exact plans and focuses going into 2025.

1. YouTube will be the main focus šŸ‘ļø

“What’s the one thing you can do, such that by doing it, everything else will be easier or unnecessary?” — The One Thing by Gary Keller

When I look at everything I want, YouTube is the most scalable thing that makes everything easier.

  • It drives clients for my YouTube mastermind and high-ticket sales advisory
  • It generates passive affiliate income
  • Most importantly, it connects me with amazing, like-minded cool ass people

…and hopefully it’ll attract that secure attachment ABG who also loves business and jiu jitsu into my life? šŸ™

To do this, my team and I will work our way up to posting 8 videos per month.

I realize the more ā€œqualityā€ content that I put out, the more people I can help and the more insights and data I’ll have to help people.

I already have the team and infrastructure, but it’s not yet a well-oiled machine.

The challenge is figuring out how to transfer my ideas from my morning reflections to my team while keeping my brand voice intact.

I’ll have to figure out a way to transfer my ideas from my morning pages and reflections to my team while keeping my brand voice.

Fuck – if Ali Abdaal can do it, so can I LOL.

2. I’ll be slowing down high-ticket sales coaching to focus on my YouTube mastermind 🧠

My original plan years ago was to scale my high-ticket sales coaching offer.

Not gonna lie—this path is exhausting.

Scaling requires building out an entire operation: coaching teams, marketing, client success, sales, and paid media.

…that just doesn’t excite me at all, especially when you factor in the 50% profit margins and the added responsibility.

Last year, I didn’t take on any coaching clients, and I loved the freedom. However, toward the end of the year, I started getting inquiries from close friends.

Here’s the truth – I make significantly more from high-ticket sales than coaching, so the ROI isn’t worth my time and doesn’t align with what the market can reasonably sustain.

With my focus shifting to YouTube, it makes more sense to center my efforts around my YouTube Mastermind.

Currently, I have 8 members, and the caliber of people is insane 🤯

  • Wall Street bestselling authors
  • VidCon speakers
  • A YouTube Creator of the Year nominee from Singapore

And honestly, it’s just fun to share degenerate jokes with the group šŸ˜‚

Right now, I have 8 people in it, which is the perfect amount.

Depending on demand and my capacity, I might open 2–3 additional slots.

While the mastermind doesn’t generate as much revenue as high-ticket sales advisory, it aligns with my long-term goals.

This year, I’ll also experiment with building a waitlist through LinkedIn and cold email outreach—though I have no clue how that’ll go LOL.

If you want to apply for the next round, feel free to do so here 🧠

3. I’ll continue running my high-ticket sales advisory šŸ¤‘

My high-ticket sales advisory isn’t going anywhere.

It’s how I stay sharp, meet incredible creators, and deliver results for S-tier YouTubers like Ali Abdaal.

But I don’t want to run paid ads to it or take on hundred of clients.

Instead, I’ll limit it to 2–3 premium clients who align with my approach.

My goal is to get this arm of the business to $100K / month at a 80-90% profit margin.

But my real focus is to provide the best service to creators who hate the Wolf of Wall street vibes but need a sales process that aligns with their brand voice.

I’m excited more than ever for the future I’m building 🧱

Real talk—this has been the best year of my life in terms of adventure, revenue, friendships, and overall enjoyment.

Sure, I’m in a super dry spell, and my YouTube barely grew, but I wouldn’t trade last year for anything.

Quitting pharmacy was 1000% the right decision for me. I’m excited to share more unique insights that can change the way you look at your life and your business.

To those who’ve been loyal readers from the start—thank you.

Even if you haven’t bought anything from me, your DMs and support mean the world.

I wouldn’t have this lifestyle (or the two Tumi bags, GH7, newest iPhone, Samsung, and investments) without you.

With love,

Kevin
